I work as a graphic designer for a marketing and advertising company in King of Prussia, PA. My primary duties are designing brochures, banners, magazine ads, postcards, and business cards, creating logos from scratch and redesigning existing logos, designing promotional products like pens, notepads, mugs, and calendars, and verifying all files are print-ready before they are sent to the printer.
I started working in graphic design during my first job as a web designer. I am quite capable of designing a logo that can be used for printed material and for use on the Internet. This is known as branding - creating a consistent look and feel for a customer that will be recognized on their website, marketing material, and promotional products.
I do freelance graphic design on the side, and create pieces of graphic art for my own personal pursuits. Sometimes I combine my fine arts skills with my graphic design skills to create some interesting pieces.
